About the Lottery

Kitchener Rotary Car Lottery - The Longest Running Car Lottery In Canada

History of the Kitchener Rotary Car Lottery

Kitchener Rotary’s car draw is perhaps the longest running car draw in Canada.

The Club first introduced a car draw in 1930 at its annual Rotary Halloween Carnival, a major event in K-W at that time. Although the Carnival ended in 1971, the Car Draw continues as an annual fundraising event. To date, the draw has generated more than 1.5 million dollars in proceeds for charity.

In 1957, draw proceeds began supporting K-W Rotary Children’s Centre (renamed KidsAbility Centre for Child Development in 2003). The Club’s unwavering commitment to support child development and KidsAbility continues with another car draw in November 2021, an astonishing 91 years after its very first car draw.

This year, for the first time ever, the car draw is being conducted wholly online.
